Carol Almeida is a researcher, professor, and film curator. She holds a PhD from the postgraduate program in Communication at UFPE, with research focused on contemporary Brazilian cinema. Carol is a member of the curatorial team for the Olhar de Cinema/Curitiba Film Festival, the Arab Women’s Film Festival, and the Mostra que Desejo, organized by Mirante Film Club. She conducts workshops on Brazilian cinema, curatorship and criticism, and the representation of women in audiovisual media. Additionally, she has served on juries at festivals such as the Tiradentes Film Festival, the Brasília Festival of Brazilian Cinema, Janela de Cinema, Animage, among others.
Fabio Rodrigues Filho works as a curator, editor and film critic. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Communication at UFMG, where he also earned his Master ‘s degree. Originally from Bahia, he graduated from UFRB. Fabio has been a member of selection committees for several festivals, including FestCurtasBH (2019 to 2023), Goiânia Mostra Curtas (2022/23), DiaLab (2018), FIANB (2020/21/23). Since 2015, he has collaborated with CachoeiraDoc and has also directed the films “Tudo que é apertado rasga” (2019) and “Não vim no mundo pra ser pedra” (2022). Additionally, he is a part of the Poéticas da Experiência research group and previously coordinated the Mário Gusmão film club. Fábio is currently a programmer at Cinema do Dragão.
Gabriel Araújo holds a degree in Social Communication from UFMG and serves as a reporter for the Brazilian newspaper for Folha de S. Paulo, in addition to being a film programmer and critic. He is a co-founder of INDETERMINAÇÕES, a platform focused on film criticism and Black Brazilian cinema, and serves as co-founder, general coordinator, and curator of Cineclube Mocambo. His curatorial experience spans several exhibitions and festivals, including FestCurtasBH, Sessão INDETERMINAÇÕES, and LONA – Mostra Cinema e Territórios, among others. He is an associate critic at Abraccine, an his also part of the Lena Santos collective, a network of Black journalists from Minas Gerais.
Kênia Freitas is a professor of Cinema and Audiovisual at UFS, holding a PhD in Communication and Culture from UFRJ. As an active researcher and critic, she has curated the Cinema do Dragão and several exhibitions and festivals. Her research and published works explore Afrofuturism, Black Cinema, and Film Criticism. Addionationally, she is a member of FICINE – Itinerant Black Cinema Forum.
